Microsoft | 2022 - Present

I am a Principal Design Manager at Microsoft, where I lead a team to drive innovative projects aimed at enhancing the employee experience and driving digital transformation. With a strong focus on usability and productivity, my goal is to spearhead initiatives such as developing smart campus solutions and implementing inclusive design practices. Our work involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create user-centric designs that significantly improve overall satisfaction and engagement. My leadership in projects like the Places, AI Campus Vision and Autonomous Building underscores my commitment to leveraging technology to shape the future of work, creating meaningful, productive, and equitable experiences for all employees.

Microsoft Places  – Product development (recently announced at Ignite)

Project scope: The Places project at Microsoft was created to address the need to support employees managing a hybrid working world. My team was responsible for the mobile solution, and we built off the concepts we created for our internal campus experiences. The UX direction was to create a more organized and efficient way to manage and navigate our daily lives on campus. It aimed to solve issues related to accessibility, usability, and information consumption, and help employees build connections, which is a significant issue in today’s post-COVID world. My team focused on enhancing user experiences by integrating accessibility features and optimizing mobile interactions (on the go).

Microsoft | AI Employee Campus Experience – Strategy and Vision

Project scope: AI interactions demand a completely new way of interfacing with information. The AI Campus Vision Project aimed to revolutionize not only the way we interface with our campus environments through AI integration, enhancing efficiency, user experience, and sustainability, but also redefine the ‘interface’ of AI. By developing smart campus solutions and inclusive design practices, the project created a more intuitive and engaging workplace and a strategic perspective on how to design AI interactions.

Microsoft | SUS –Usability and Measurement

Project scope: I created this initiative to help the team learn ways of measuring our ability to drive impact and results while also improving the usability of various solutions through the System Usability Scale (SUS) methods. The project aims to enhance user experience by identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that products meet high usability standards. Since starting, we have been able to establish a baseline of satisfaction and continue to derive insights to drive improvements.

Microsoft | UX Education Series–Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
Project scope: The Workplace UX Education Series provides a comprehensive understanding of UX methodology, covering essential topics like design thinking, information architecture, content, accessibility, and interaction design to help facilitate collaboration with our PM and SW partners. The series has emphasized the importance of creating people-friendly and inclusive solutions, enhancing user experience for our employee experience solutions. The collaboration with PM and SWE partners ensures that all aspects of the project are aligned, resulting in a final product that meets both business and user needs. This collaborative approach has so far enhanced the communication and understanding of the UX disciplines needed to make great UXs.
